Hi there! I’m Mel - a foodie, fitness enthusiast, dreamer and nature lover. Some time ago I took it upon myself to improve my own health and now I want to help YOU do the same so you can become happier and healthier!
I went through my fair share of ups and downs when it comes to nutrition, exercise, motivation and (lack of) positive thinking. It took me some time and it definitely wasn’t easy to change my mindset to a healthier one but once I got there, it got progressively easier to start implementing better habits into my daily life and I got out of the negative cycle I seemed to have been stuck in.
I can feel down and demotivated quite easily but I also very rarely give up. So despite the moments when I felt really low and discouraged, I began to experiment with diets, new workout routines, motivational videos and books, you name it. Let's just say it didn't result in a "miraculous" shift in my thinking; rather, it left me feeling super hopeless. After all, I've tried so many ways to get fitter, healthier and happier, and none of them worked. What had not occurred to me at that point was that all these attempts involved shortcuts - I wasn't prepared to put in the work required to actually get where I wanted to be. And that was because I really thought it would mean tons of exercising, eating bland and boring foods, and feeling totally miserable.
Later on, I figured out that wasn't the case at all. Through Instagram accounts of many inspiring people, I found veganism - don't worry, this blog isn't dedicated to veganism and you can still enjoy the posts fully without being vegan! It's just that for me it was like I had received permission to finally stop restricting food, enjoy what I eat and in abundance, too! I realized many of the people behind my favorite Instagram accounts went through similar issues as me and it helped me believe I didn't have to be stuck in negativity forever.
Basically, what helped me was hearing encouraging and positive words from others, which is what I hope will help you as well. I try my best to write posts in which I address important and useful topics, and to share recipes that are delicious and easy to make.
